Why RxPoint

We solve the actual problems and frustrations we have experienced first-hand on the ground.

Our Story

RxTech began at the dispensary counter of Auleria Pharmacy in Lusaka, where Mwila Clement Katemba III was completing his Pharmacy Technologist internship. Tired of watching chaotic paper logbooks, unrecorded sales, and end of shift guesswork bleed revenue daily, he realized the health sector was fighting modern operational headaches with completely outdated tools. Armed with zero formal coding knowledge, a borrowed laptop, and two computer science colleagues, he treated software development like a video game, and instead of waiting for an imported corporate template that wouldn't fit a Zambian dispensary, he started building a system to fix it. That system became RxPoint, and RxPoint became RxTech.

What We Have Built

RxPoint Desktop has grown through ten major versions. From a simple stock list to a full pharmacy management system with batch tracking, FEFO, per-batch pricing, ZAMRA-ready compliance logging, and role-based permissions that mirror how real pharmacy teams are structured. RxPoint Mobile extends that system to any phone in the building, syncing sales back to the front desk in real time. The same engine also powers ZMCK, a point-of-sale system for general retail shops.

Why RxPoint

We're not adapting software built for somewhere else. RxTech is built in Lusaka, tested in a real pharmacy, and shaped by the regulatory and operational realities of Zambian community pharmacies, from ZAMRA compliance to running a shop on an unreliable connection. Our goal is simple: every Zambian pharmacy should have software that understands how it actually works.

Three youths. One pharmacy counter. Software built to outlast all of us.

The Team

Who better to build a Pharmacy Management System than the ones who actually understand the workflow?

A Pharmacy Technologist and two Computer Science students, working together to build software that actually works for Zambian pharmacies.

What RxPoint Stands For

Five things we don't compromise on.

These aren't features we bolted on, they're the reasons RxPoint exists in the first place.

FEFO & Batch Tracking

Every batch is tracked by expiry date, so the oldest stock always sells first, automatically.

  • Per-batch pricing
  • Automatic FEFO ordering
  • Expiry alerts before it's too late

ZAMRA-Ready Compliance

Compliance logging is built in from day one, so inspection day isn't a scramble.

  • Temperature compliance logs
  • Audit-ready records
  • No last-minute paperwork

Role-Based Access

Every staff member sees exactly what their role needs, nothing more, nothing less.

  • Pharmacist, cashier & admin roles
  • Ranked permission hierarchy
  • Clear accountability per user

Inventory Intelligence

Reorder before you run out based on real sales history, not guesswork.

  • Average monthly consumption
  • Months-of-stock per product
  • Product performance overview

Built for Zambian Pharmacies

Designed around how community pharmacies here actually run; desktop at the counter, mobile in your pocket.

  • Desktop + mobile, kept in sync
  • Works on a slow connection
  • Local context, first
